Day 6 Sugar Detox Report - Cravings Fade, Stability Begins

Today on the Day 6 of Sugar Detox, I felt heavy with low energy, slow start, and not much motivation. But underneath that sluggishness, I started noticing something exciting: my cravings were gone and my glucose readings looked steadier than they had all week. Day 5 was the hardest day so far for cravings but somehow today the desire for sugar just wasn’t there. My skin also looks clearer, a small but encouraging sign that change is happening.

Day 6 Sugar Detox - Morning Check-In

Weight: 195.6 lbs. Fasting Glucose (CGM): 102 mg/dL Sleep Readiness (Oura): 87 Sleep Quality (Oura): 82 Energy Level: 3 — very low, tough to get moving Mood: tired, unmotivated

Breakfast: 3 eggs over easy with cheese2 sausage patties2 pieces of sugar-free / low-carb / gluten-free bread with butter

Notes: No cravings this morning. I chose the bread simply because I enjoy it, not because I was craving sugar. Energy was low, but fasting glucose is trending downward leading to a good sign that my body is adjusting.

Day 6 sugar detox with steady glucose and no cravings

Day 6 Sugar Detox - Afternoon Check-In

Still sluggish with some brain fog but no sugar cravings at all. This feels like recalibration mode.

Glucose (CGM): 105 mg/dL

Lunch: Spinach salad with chicken, peppers, avocado, onions, celery, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, microgreens, pomegranate seeds, carrots, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, olive oil + vinegar.

Snacks: none

Notes: I tried Purdue Chicken Tenders made with rice flour spiking my glucose to 130 mg/dL. Rice flour has a high glycemic index (GI 79) so this wasn’t unexpected. My glucose dropped back to 92 mg/dL before the next meal showing a great sign of improved glucose regulation.

Still not hungry between meals. No snacking urges. No post-meal sugar cravings. That’s a major shift from just yesterday.

Lunch was satisfying, but as soon as I finished, the automatic urge for something sweet hit me hard. I chose apple slices instead, but mentally I still wanted more.  A short walk helped distract my mind, and I even took a 15-minute nap to reset.

Day 6 Sugar Detox - Evening Check-In

I felt hungry prior to dinner, but still no desire for sweets.

Glucose (CGM): 94 mg/dL

Dinner: Italian sausage with ketchupVeggie tray: carrots, Brussels sprouts, broccoli (oven roasted — see the video on our YouTube Channel!)

Snack: 2 pieces of sugar-free / low-carb / gluten-free bread with butter

Notes: Glucose rose from 94 → 123 mg/dL, then drifted back to 93 before bed. In the past, a spike like that would leave me stuck in the 110s. It feels like my body is starting to process glucose more efficiently showing early signs of metabolic flexibility.

Day 6 Sugar Detox - Daily Recap

Glucose Range: 92 – 130 mg/dL Total Activity (Apple Watch): 2,492 calories Water: 180 oz Overall Energy Level: 5 — average Overall Mood: sluggish, low motivation Overall Cravings: almost none; sugar desire seems to be disappearing

What’s Happening on Day 6 of a Sugar Detox

Even though my energy felt low, my glucose was more stable and predictable today. My spikes weren’t as sharp, and my readings dropped smoothly after meals. That’s a major improvement from earlier in the detox.

Research shows that around this point, Days 5–7, glycogen stores begin to deplete. When that happens, the body transitions away from relying on quick “fast fuel” from sugar and starts tapping into stored glycogen and fat, a steadier and more sustainable energy source.

And that’s exactly what today felt like: a turning point.  I now embrace the tiredness of it all to get over the hump.

My body seems to be recalibrating to life without constant sugar intake. Overall, glucose patterns were lower, flatter, and more consistent. The cravings have eased, and even though energy dipped, the underlying metabolic shift feels real.

The body is amazing and it’s clearly adapting.
