Day 9 of the sugar detox challenge was interesting but nothing dramatic. I woke up with a little less energy than the past few days and a light craving for something sweet. It wasn’t overpowering, more like a gentle nudge from the old habit trying to remind me it still exists. But mentally, I stayed calm, clear, and steady.
Day 9 Sugar Detox - Morning Check-In 💬
Weight: 194.7 lbs
Fasting Glucose: 103 mg/dL
Sleep Readiness: 82
Sleep Quality: 75
Energy Level: 7
Mood: Steady and relaxed
Breakfast: 3 eggs over easy with cheese, 2 sausage patties
Notes: A little sluggish compared to Days 7 and 8. Mild cravings which is totally normal around this phase as the body keeps recalibrating its energy systems.

Day 9 Sugar Detox - Afternoon Check-In 🏃
Lots of movement today. I played two hours of pickleball plus a two-mile run.
Glucose: 109 mg/dL (spiked to 132 mg/dL during pickleball)
Lunch: Salmon, brussels sprouts, mashed parsnips
Snacks:
2 high-protein wraps with turkey, cream cheese, ranch, and cheese
Apple slices with cashew butter
Notes: The glucose spike during pickleball is normal causing my body to mobilize quick energy during intense activity. Hunger was high afterward, which makes sense given the physical output.
Day 9 Sugar Detox - Evening Check-In
Glucose: 100 mg/dL
Dinner: Chicken-crust pizza with mozzarella and pepperoni
Snacks: Halloumi with marinara, apple slices with cashew butter
Notes: Still no afternoon crash. Energy stayed steady, and mood remained strong. Hunger lingered into the evening but likely activity-driven, not craving-driven.
Day 9 Sugar Detox - Daily Recap
Glucose Range: 99–132 mg/dL
Total Activity: 3,700 calories burned
Water Intake: 240 oz
Overall Energy: 8 (physically tired but mentally strong)
Overall Mood: Positive and encouraged
Overall Cravings: Mild, especially at night
What Day 9 Reveals About Sugar Detox Adaptation
Today shows a pattern that is very common around this point in the detox:
Energy can dip slightly as the body continues shifting from sugar-based energy to more stable metabolic pathways.
Light cravings return, but they’re weaker and shorter as my brain is beginning to accept the new normal.
Exercise-related glucose spikes are expected. They is a sign my body is responding appropriately to physical demands.
No midday crash means my blood sugar is stabilizing beautifully.
Hunger today was likely tied to my very active schedule, not to cravings or withdrawal.
Day 9 shows that my body is deep in the adaptation phase still adjusting, still learning, but no longer fighting the change. I feel like I have turned a major corner, even if energy wavers a bit. I need to remember to stay steady, focused, and consistent.
