Day 12 Sugar Detox Report - When Progress Feels Uneven

Today brought a little plot twist. My energy wasn’t terrible, but my blood sugar had a mind of its own overnight. This is a normal part of the detox process as the body shifts deeper into fat-burning mode meaning days like this help remind participants that progress isn’t linear.
Day 12 Sugar Detox - Morning Check-In
Weight: 194.9 lbs
Fasting Glucose (CGM): 80 mg/dL
Sleep Readiness: 88
Sleep Quality: 79
Energy Level: 6 — tired but functional
Mood: Alert and ready to move
Breakfast:
3 eggs over easy with cheese
2 sausage patties
Blueberries + raspberries (needed a quick glucose bump)
I woke up feeling alert but off. Last night my CGM showed three dips below 70 mg/dL, with one lasting over 30 minutes. That’s considered hypoglycemic. It looks chaotic on the application, but I’m learning this actually happens when the liver’s glycogen stores are almost empty, and the body is trying to figure out how to regulate glucose with far less sugar coming in.

Day12 Sugar Detox - Afternoon Check-In
Glucose: 99 mg/dL
Lunch:
2 protein wraps with turkey, Colby cheese, cream cheese, and ranch
Snacks:
2 pieces of 72% cacao chocolate
Apple slices with cashew butter
Definitely feeling hungrier today. Not in a craving way but more in a “my body wants fuel” way. Energy was okay but not amazing.
Day 12 Sugar Detox - Evening Check-In
Glucose: 83 mg/dL
Dinner:
2 chicken thighs (with skin)
Brussels sprouts
Broccoli
Snack:
72% cacao chocolate with cashew butter (no glucose changes!)
Day 12 Sugar Detox - Daily Recap
Glucose Range: <70–113 mg/dL
Activity: 2,426 calories
Water: 140 oz
Overall Energy: 6 — steady but tired
Overall Mood: Cautious but excited
Overall Cravings: Mild evening cravings (mostly habit-based)
Why Day 12 Can Feel Off (But Is Actually a Good Sign)
Day 11 brought tiredness, soreness, and a noticeable increase in hunger. This is normal at this stage as my body is still sorting through stored glycogen, recalibrating insulin response, and adjusting fuel sources.
My overnight glucose was the steadiest it has been since wearing the CGM, mostly parked around 94 mg/dL. This shows real metabolic adaptation, even if my energy doesn’t quite feel like it yet. Even with the fatigue, the overnight glucose stability is a major indicator that the detox is working exactly as it should. These dips in energy often come right before another upswing
